Domaine Rounagle is located in Larroque-sur-l'Osse, in the Ténarèze region, northwest of Armagnac, near the town of Condom. This 23-hectare estate, 20 hectares of which are in production, is distinguished by its clay-limestone terroir, renowned for producing highly aromatic white wines, which are then distilled into Armagnac. The estate's Armagnacs are made mainly from Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes, and the estate has a tradition of prolonged ageing in dry and damp cellars to develop complex flavours. Hugues Amesland, who took over the estate in 2015, perpetuates Armagnac production using artisanal methods. The estate is also renowned for its vintage Armagnacs, with bottles often reserved for local connoisseurs, although some cuvées are now exported.
“Grape of the Art” (GotA) is a project that showcases exceptional Armagnacs and Cognacs, bottled in single casks and without reduction, to satisfy rum and whisky lovers. The concept was born of a group of enthusiasts in Stuttgart who, after discovering the quality and diversity of Armagnacs, decided to devote themselves to this French eau-de-vie. Their aim is to reveal the hidden treasures of small producers by selecting rare, unaltered casks.
