Château de Hontambère, located in the Ténarèze region of Armagnac, takes its name from an ancient spring of pure water that runs through the middle of the estate's courtyard. This estate, which is particularly respectful of the region's artisan traditions, perpetuates ancestral Armagnac know-how using refined distillation and ageing techniques. The region's unique soil, composed of limestone-clay, boulbène and tawny sand, contributes to the exceptional quality of its eaux-de-vie. The grapes used (Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Baco, and Folle Blanche) are carefully grown and vinified with meticulous control to preserve their aromas. After distillation (using a century-old still), the Armagnacs are aged in selected oak barrels to refine their character, and bottled directly without dilution or additives. The estate thus aims to produce Armagnacs of rare purity, reflecting both the richness of the terroir and the expertise of its craftsmen.

“Grape of the Art” (GotA) is a project that showcases exceptional Armagnacs and Cognacs, bottled in single casks and without reduction, to satisfy rum and whisky lovers. The concept was born of a group of enthusiasts in Stuttgart who, after discovering the quality and diversity of Armagnacs, decided to devote themselves to this French eau-de-vie. Their aim is to reveal the hidden treasures of small producers by selecting rare, unaltered casks.
