Grape Of The Art - Cognac Tiffon Lot 90 - 32YO - 47.8% - 70cl -
This Cognac comes directly from the Tiffon family reserve. On the nose, you'll be surprised by a depth and maturity you wouldn't normally expect from a Cognac from the 90s! Ripe stone fruits such as apricots and mirabelles are carried by darker notes of mocha and chocolate. Noble cedar and sandalwood, light tobacco notes and a hint of citrus oil enhance the elegance to create a wonderful fragrance! On the palate, Tiffon plays on the whole scale of flavors! The sweetness of fruit and honey alternates with the creaminess of croissant and cake. The heavy body and oily texture end with a long, delicate finish of dark chocolate and macadamia nuts.

Founded in 1875 in Jarnac, in the heart of the Cognac wine region, Tiffon embodies both tradition and innovation in the production of one of the world's most prestigious spirits. For over 140 years, this family-run house has distinguished itself by its commitment to rigorously respected production techniques, while drawing on a unique multicultural heritage, notably with the arrival of the Braastad family, originally from Norway, who married into the Tiffon story at the beginning of the 20th century. The quality of Tiffon cognacs is based on a carefully preserved and mastered distillation method: traditional Charentaise distillation. This process, made up of several key stages, is essential to transform white wine into exceptional eaux-de-vie. Copper stills play a central role in the distillation process. At Tiffon, the quality of the copper and its interaction with the wine help to eliminate impurities and refine aromas. The copper reacts with the sulfur components to purify the liquid while concentrating the floral and fruity aromas that define the house style. After distillation, Tiffon eaux-de-vie are placed in French oak barrels to begin a long period of ageing. The choice of barrels is crucial. The highly porous Limousin oak barrels allow slow oxygenation of the alcohol, while the tighter Tronçais oak barrels bring out more subtle notes. Over the years, Tiffon cognacs evolve and become more complex. The wood enriches the alcohol with aromas of vanilla, spices, dried fruit and even hints of tobacco and leather. The cellar master carefully monitors each barrel to determine the exact moment when the eau-de-vie reaches its peak.
“Grape of the Art” (GotA) is a project that showcases exceptional Armagnacs and Cognacs, bottled in single casks and without reduction, to satisfy rum and whisky lovers. The concept was born of a group of enthusiasts in Stuttgart who, after discovering the quality and diversity of Armagnacs, decided to devote themselves to this French eau-de-vie. Their aim is to reveal the hidden treasures of small producers by selecting rare, unaltered casks.
