Grape Of The Art - Cognac Vaudon Lot 75/78/80 - 47.8% - 70cl -
Produced in 1975, 1978 and 1980, this Cognac features heart notes of ripe apples, Sicilian oranges and pears, mirabelle plums and apricots. Top notes of Moroccan mint and jasmine flower add Mediterranean freshness, while fine notes of cedarwood and sandalwood bring depth and sensuality to the base notes. On the palate, a crystalline, dense concentrate of stone fruits and fine notes of precious woods. Bursts of citrus with their wonderful acidity ensure great fluidity. The velvety, oily texture envelops everything, leaving the palate with a long, mystical aftertaste.

The history of the famous Domaine Vaudon began in 1771, when François Gaborit inherited his Mérignac estate and vineyards to his son-in-law, Pierre Nalbert, who developed and grew the estate and laid the foundations for its current success. The first 25hl still was installed in the 20th century, at the same time as most of today's Fin Bois vineyards were planted by Pierre Mousset, while the second still was later installed by Bernard Vaudon. Today, the estate is run by Anne-Marie Vaudon and Pierre Vaudon. The absolute hallmark of their work is the 10-fold concentration of aromas during distillation in their Charentais alembics, also known as “repasse” stills.
“Grape of the Art” (GotA) is a project that showcases exceptional Armagnacs and Cognacs, bottled in single casks and without reduction, to satisfy rum and whisky lovers. The concept was born of a group of enthusiasts in Stuttgart who, after discovering the quality and diversity of Armagnacs, decided to devote themselves to this French eau-de-vie. Their aim is to reveal the hidden treasures of small producers by selecting rare, unaltered casks.
